Spider Vein & Rosacea Laser Treatment

Spider Vein & Rosacea Laser Treatment
Treat visible spider veins, redness, and rosacea-related flushing with targeted vascular therapies

Purpose :

To reduce visible superficial blood vessels on the face or body, including spider veins on the legs and redness caused by rosacea or chronic flushing.

How it works :

We offer two treatment approaches depending on the concern and location:

  • Sclerotherapy is the most effective option for spider veins on the legs. A small amount of solution is injected into each vessel, causing it to collapse and fade naturally.
  • Laser treatment (980 nm or Nd:YAG) targets red pigments in superficial vessels, closing them off without damaging surrounding skin. Cooling is applied during treatment for comfort. Nd:YAG may also be used to reduce facial flushing and rosacea-related redness.

Results :

Spider veins fade gradually over 3–6 weeks after sclerotherapy or laser treatment, depending on the size and depth of the vessels. Some may take longer. Rosacea symptoms often require repeated sessions and ongoing management. Results vary based on severity and individual skin response.

Duration :

Results are long-lasting for spider veins, especially with lifestyle support. Rosacea may need maintenance treatments.

FAQ

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients need 2 to 4 sessions spaced several weeks apart for optimal results. The exact number depends on the size, depth, and location of the veins or the severity of the rosacea.

Will the veins or redness come back?

Once a vein is successfully treated, it usually does not return. However, new veins can appear over time due to genetics, lifestyle, or sun exposure. Rosacea is a chronic condition, so maintenance sessions may be needed to keep redness under control.

Is it suitable for facial veins or only legs?

Yes — we treat both facial spider veins and visible veins on the legs. The best method (sclerotherapy or laser) will be recommended after assessing your skin and vessel type during consultation.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most patients describe the sensation as a quick snap or gentle warmth. Any discomfort is brief and tolerable, and anaesthesia is usually not necessary.

Can I have treatment if I’m tanned?

If you are having laser treatment for veins or redness, we recommend avoiding it on recently tanned skin, whether from the sun, tanning beds, or self-tanner. Tanned skin increases the risk of burns, pigmentation changes, and other complications from laser. For the safest and most effective results, avoid tanning for at least 4 weeks before your laser appointment. Sclerotherapy can still be performed on tanned skin, but it’s important to discuss your recent sun exposure with your practitioner.
